We are a research based consultancy with a proven track record in making a difference to our clients’ businesses. We provide consultancy based on very sound research skills combined with business and marketing acumen.

We integrate all methodologies including traditional approaches (groups, depths, face to face, telephone, online surveys, observation, panels) and non traditional approaches based on advanced technologies such as EEG, social collaborative forums, SMS and mobile.

We are a wholly Australian owned and independent business which commenced in 1988 in Sydney as Sutherland Smith. Nine years later, we became Sutherland Smith Ringham.

In 2000 we rebranded to INSIDE STORY Knowledge Management, signifying a shift from traditional market research to investigations that integrate a broader range of inputs creating deeper levels of insight and opportunity. We service international briefs with a particular focus on Australia, New Zealand, Asia and China.
